Jessie Mae Ely
Jessie Mae Ely was born in 1936 in Newark, New Jersey. She was raised with the love of God and family as the core of her character.
She was blessed with the responsibility of raising ten children, then a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and more. Every step of the way, she passed down her love of God and family.
That love became intimately tied to the meals she prepared. Once she became a grandmother, she became “Nana,” and everyone knew that if you were visiting Nana, you were going to have a great meal. With every meal came desserts. As a kid, you would just stare at the dessert table, wishing for dinner to be over soon.
